Enigma

MGA’s 2018 Spring Season

Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd of May at 7.30pm

We are trapped in a mystery, wrapped in a riddle, locked in an enigma

From the Latin word Aenigma meaning ‘riddle’ – derived itself from the ancient greek verbal noun αἴνιγμα aínigma, ‘dark saying, speaking in riddles’.

Through dance we explore the literal to the obscure, uncovering mysteries and truths surrounding life’s enigmas.

“We have now arrived at a stage in life so rich in new perceptions that cannot be transmitted to those at another stage – one feels at the same time full of so much gentleness and so much despair – the enigma of this life grows, grows, drowns one and crushes one, then all of a sudden in a supreme moment of light one becomes aware of the sacred.”
May Sarton, Journal of a Solitude

Sup Dhanasunthorn brings guest choreographer Alejandro Martinez, together with Alex Risbridger, John Burlington, Ashley Jack, Adam Mcmillan, and Jill Rennie to choreograph this powerful original work showcasing MGA’s Dance course.
