MGA Workshops

MGA bring together professionals in the performing arts industry to offer workshops, training opportunities and summer schools to young people hoping for a future career in the industry.

Workshops are designed to complement any full-time training and enable students to meet and work with young and successful professional performers, choreographers, directors, casting directors, agents and producers. And for younger aspiring performers, workshops – including our popular Summer School – offer opportunity for intensive work on Acting, Dancing and Singing skills (and for intensive fun!).

The MGA Academy Workshops: training for the profession, from the profession

MGA Workshops aim to bring the opportunities and experiences usually only associated with London-based workshops to students living across the UK. All our tutors are skilled professionals – we do not employ students, amateurs or those with no training to lead our workshops. We believe that learning from trained, working practitioners is the best way to understand and prepare for a career in performing arts.

MGA facilitates workshops and classes spanning the disciplines of Acting, Singing and Dancing through to Technical and Creative Theatre Arts, giving students-in-training and graduates entering the professional world the opportunity to ‘test the water’.

We currently work with individuals and companies involved in all aspects of the industry, from leading producers, agents, managers and casting directors, to individual actors, singers and dancers, performers, directors, choreographers and theatre designers.

We also arrange workshops and visiting teachers for third-party clients including other drama and performing arts schools. Recent events have been led at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Dance For All Theatre School, colleges, and at local dance and drama groups. Contact our Edinburgh Office if you are interested or would like more information on third-party work.

Workshops on offer

As usual there are lots of training opportunities running at The MGA Academy this year, and they are all advertised in the Events page and through our Facebook page – we are arranging new sessions all the time for a variety of age and experience groups, and across Acting, Singing and Dance areas so keep checking for updates.

Below are some examples of recent workshops run at The Academy…
