We absolutely believe that you cannot, we repeat, CANNOT teach someone to perform without the right studio and performance spaces. School halls and sports centres just don’t make the grade at The MGA Company! We must have the very best of facilities if we are to expect the very best from our students.

The MGA Academy of Performing Arts is housed in a beautifully-maintained Grade B listed building which has been refurbished to the highest standards for our specific needs.

Our facilities

We believe our new home will be a focus for teaching excellence, student talent, and inspiration for Edinburgh, Scotland, the UK and beyond. Our facilities include…

  • Four high quality studio spaces equipped with Clavinova pianos and state-of-the-art sound systems, including dedicated music and acting rooms.
  • Two private practise rooms with piano/sound systems.
  • A computer suite of brand new computers, printers and copiers, plus wifi access.
  • An on-site student library housing our current collection of musicals CDs, scores, scripts and theory books.
  • An extensive costume/prop store and workshop.
  • Student changing facilities and locker room.
  • A fully-equipped kitchen and common room, complete with a TV, sound system and DVD library.
  • To ensure student safety the building is protected by a new security system, including key-pad access, motion sensors, and CCTV both within the building and surveying the ample on-site parking.

Location

The new Academy is ideally located just outside the centre of town, with a bus stop at our front door and no less than ten bus services stopping within walking distance. There are local shops on our street as well as a Sainsbury’s store close by.

We can offer four professional studios and rehearsal spaces for hire to outside users including students, theatre companies, casting and production companies and corporate users:
