Making your home in Brighton
In an enviable position on the south coast, Brighton is an ideal base for Performing Arts students – a short journey by train from London's buzzing theatre scene, but with a fun and vibrant city culture all of it's own.
Student life
Lots of students make their home here across Brighton and Hove. The region is an easy and affordable place to live for the student on a budget. There's a wide choice of pubs, clubs and restaurants, plus all the attractions of a seaside town thrown in – the famous Brighton pier and amusement park, Royal Pavilion and beachfront entertainment – and you're a short journey from gorgeous open countryside.
Brighton shops have something for everyone, from the treasure troves and retro boutiques of The Lanes to the high street stores of Church Square and the Marina complex. You'll certainly never be short of something to do, with cinemas, great music venues and local sporting events. And you could always go for a dip in the sea!
Theatre life
Brighton has a huge theatre scene and boasts two leading touring venues. The Theatre Royal and the Dome regularly host national tours and West End transfers, as well as producing their own work. Every spring the city hosts a celebration of the Arts in the form of the Brighton Festival, which gets bigger each year and includes a blossoming Performing Arts Fringe festival that may soon rival that of Edinburgh.
