Scottish Qualifications Authority

The MGA Academy is one of the newest SQA Approved Centres, demonstrating our commitment to excellence in the training of young performing artists. With SQA accredited HNC and HND Programs in Musical Theatre our students are guaranteed not only a fantastic practical performance based training, but also academic qualifications in their chosen field.

SQA is an executive non-departmental public body (NDPB) sponsored by the Scottish Government Schools Directorate. It is the national body in Scotland responsible for the development, accreditation, assessment and certification of qualifications other than degrees.

The overall aim of the SQA is to manage the qualifications system below degree level to allow students to fulfil their potential to participate in the economy, society and communities of Scotland.

Council for Dance Education and Training

The MGA Academy is a recognised school with the Council for Dance Education and Training.

A CDET Recognised School is a pre-vocational dance or musical theatre school that has been awarded the Council’s certificate of good professional practice. If you attend or intend taking classes at a local dance or drama school it is essential you do so at a school that distinguishes itself from the large numbers of unregulated dance and drama schools operating throughout the country

It is important that you choose a dance, drama or musical theatre school because of its commitment to professional practice, your safety and your wellbeing.

Schools awarded CDET's Recognised School mark demonstrate to students, parents, and guardians that they adhere to the standards demanded by the industry; standards designed to protect and safeguard young people whether dancing for leisure or with an eye to a career in the profession
